What is SKY Delights?

SKY Delights welcomed its first customers in February 2010. One of my first goals was to stock (and sample!) lots of scrummy things that I couldn't easily get hold of in Nairn.

After that, my aim was to provide a relaxing, somewhat old fashioned, shopping experience where chatting and browsing is as important to health as the products themselves.

Coming from a nursing and sociology background, I wanted to address issues of physical and mental well-being with specific and targetted dietary products and, where needed, key food supplements. Our relationship with food is beautifully complex and nourishing far beyond simple energy needs. What we eat, the way that we prepare it, and how we might augment it, all has a huge impact on how well we are.

Our aim is to provide good, tasty produce, local and organic where possible, and to combine this with sound advice including signposting to other support – both complementary and conventional, as well as culinary.

We have a small tardis of a shop bursting with all manner of stuff. Come in for a browse and a chat. It would be lovely to see you.

We sell organic fruit, vegetables and eggs from Macleod Organics, based at Ardersier, and local cheeses from Connage Highland Dairy, also at Ardersier.

Other local producers we support include Left Coast Culture (vegan cheeses), Highland Wax Company and Eco Soaps.

Most packaged foods for sale in SKY Delights are certified organic. Many of the foods we sell are also certified as Fairtrade.
